EcoEng-online: Changes ahead

By Andreas Schoenborn, Editor, Switzerland

 New editorial team
Beginning with the next newsletter we will have an editorial team. I am happy to welcome Carl Etnier from Vermont, USA, and Amy Davis from Washington State, USA, as my new coeditors. I myself will continue to be part of the editorial team and will especially concentrate on the further development of the web technology used by EcoEng-online. This present issue has been edited entirely by myself.
This issue
This issue focusses on urine separation (or urine diversion, as some call it). There are a number of projects on the way now: the Swedes have just finished a first phase of intensive research on urine separation (see articles by H.Jönsson, M.Johannson & M.Nykvist and C.Höglund in this newsletter). In Switzerland, the Novaquatis project is well on the way (see article on Novaquatis). In Germany, the Ecosan project by GTZ will probably add a lot of impetus to the development of the technology. I am not aware of any other project, but am sure that there must be more around.
Correspondents
Again, the EcoEng-correspondents contributed substantially to this issue. thank you to Caroline Höglund, Björn Vinnerås, Amy Davis and Astrid Kirchner for their work. Needless to say, that without their volunteer effort, the whole newsletter wouldn't be half as interesting.

If you feel like becoming a correspondent yourself, please contact me. We are still and always looking for good correspondents in almost any region of the world. However, please keep in mind that this means volunteer work.

I hope you like what you see in this newsletter.

All the best

Andreas Schönborn
