Discussion on issues of this newsletter

//debate// is an internet discussion tool developed specifically for use in development cooperation by Koni Saameli (ksa@hyperwerk.ch), Switzerland. It is a so called groupware tool based on the idea of cooperation among equals.

//debate// offers a lot of freedom to its users: anyone can invite new participants or create new topics. The groups that are created by this snowball system make up their own rules.

A few instructions for first-timers:

  1. Go to the //debate// link you find at the bottom of this page
  2. If you have not used //debate// before, please create your "portrait" (which includes a username and a password). A email of acceptance will be sent to your email adress by the //debate// server after registration
  3. Log into //debate// using your newly created password and username
  4. You can now read the messages in the discussion topics, respond to them or create new topics. You can also invite new participants - as many as you like.

For us this is the first time we use a discussion forum in connection with the EcoEng-Newsletter. We have created three topics to begin with, and we'd kindly ask you to not alter the top level of topics in this first round:

//debate// is still a prototype. You may discover some shortcomings on your way through it. Please let us and/or the developer know your opinion about //debate// .

Well then, let's Start the //debate// .

The editors.
