|EcoSan Courses in India|
Together with the NGO Ecosan Services Foundation (www.ecosanservices.org) and other partners, the IEES offers Ecosan Training Courses in India.
The courses range from an introductory three-day course for decision makers and general audience to an elaborate two-week "Ecosan Expert Course" for engineers and project managers in the sanitation field.
The ecosan training courses follow a participatory approach and great emphasis is laid on interactive teaching methods such as group works, case studies and role-plays. In the “Ecosan Expert Courses”, technical exercises help participants to thoroughly understand the various applied technologies and provide them with the ability to design and implement ecosan projects themselves.
Participants develop feasibility studies of real ecosan projects in an extended group exercise from scratch. There, they put in their accumulated theoretical knowledge into practice and develop a holistic reuse concept, a technical design, do cost calculations and a stakeholder analysis. The results are presented and discussed in the plenary and later often lead to the actual implementation through the participants’ organisations.
